Familiar Face in a New Place

Stacy Kinnaly, Executive Director of the Geothermal Drillers Association.
May 16, 2025

We look forward to the opportunity to continue working with our former Director of Projects, Stacy Kinnaly. Stacy is now the Executive Director of the Geothermal Drillers Association (GDA), an organization established in April 2024 to champion the role of drilling in the effort to achieve scalability, safety, and broader access to heating and cooling.

While at HEET Stacy helped with several initiatives including support with writing and managing grants and the coordination of the Geothermal Market Capacity Coalition. The white paper she helped write in that role in part informed the founding of the GDA. and her management of HEET’s first-in-the-nation Geothermal Drilling Technician Training program was in collaboration with the GDA.

We wish Stacy and GDA founders Brock Yordy and Rob Meyers continued success in this new adventure and HEET welcomes GDA as a new collaborative partner. The GDA prioritizes safe equipment usage, comprehensive workforce training, professional licensure, and stringent quality control. By uniting the geothermal drilling community, the GDA is poised to help elevate safety standards, promote professional development, and drive innovation within this vital clean energy sector.

You can get more information on the GDA here.
